Earlier this year in April, Heru and Michele Santos visited the Missionaries of the Poor Mission in Labuan Bajo. Heru and Michele are from the Indonesian community in Upper Coomera on the Gold Coast. They heard of the mission through the Young Adult Ministry (YAM) Expo at St Stephens Cathedral which is held each August. YAM is part of the Catholic Youth Ministry Brisbane. During his visit to Brisbane Fr Richard Ho Lung travelled south and visited Marian Valley – Shrine of our Lady Help of Christians. The Shrine is situated south of Brisbane in the Gold Coast Hinterland at 2541 Beechmont Road, 10km from Canungra and is maintained by the Pauline Fathers of the Order of St Paul the First Hermit. The Valley is a place of solitude, for prayer and spiritual renewal. Marian Valley is a sacred place and was established as a place to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of our Lord.
