During his visit to Brisbane Fr Richard Ho Lung travelled south and visited Marian Valley – Shrine of our Lady Help of Christians. The Shrine is situated south of Brisbane in the Gold Coast Hinterland at 2541 Beechmont Road, 10km from Canungra and is maintained by the Pauline Fathers of the Order of St Paul the First Hermit. The Valley is a place of solitude, for prayer and spiritual renewal. Marian Valley is a sacred place and was established as a place to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of our Lord. On the beautiful and peaceful grounds are a church, many chapels, a monastery and several retreat houses.
During his visit Fr Ho Lung con-celebrated the Holy Mass with Fr Oskar Osinski OSPPE, Rector of Marian Valley, and addressed the faithful in the afternoon on the Face of Christ seen through the poor and marginalised. The day was very cold which dampened the number of faithful that came but the Word of the Lord reiterated by Fr Ho Lung in his address were all the more powerful in such a sacred place as the Marian Valley.
Please visit Marian Valley if you haven’t been, the experience will be worth it, just to visit, ponder, pray and listen to nature.
That’s it for us for now but our next post will focus on an Indonesian couple from Upper Coomera that recently visited the mission in Labuan Bajo. Watch out for it and by for now.
