Tina is the eldest daughter of Sicilian migrants and was born in Innisfail in northern Queensland.  She later moved to Brisbane where she completed her undergraduate studies and holds a Degree in Applied Science.  Trevor was born and raised in Paddington, Brisbane, the youngest child in the family.  Trevor’s parents were descendants of Irish, English and German migrants.  He gained an Undergraduate Degree also in Applied Science, and later attained his Doctoral Degree in Biological Science.  We met just prior to university studies and were married in 1978.  We have two children, a daughter who is married and lives in Brisbane, who has three children and a son who is married and lives in Virginia, USA and has one child. We are now retired and are members of the Holy Family Parish, Indooroopilly, Brisbane.

We were brought up as cradle Catholics, but unfortunately were lukewarm Sunday Catholics for many years.  Our faith journey has taken many twists and turns since we were married, and our personal relationship with Jesus really started only in the late 1990s. This comeback to Our Blessed Lord was inspired initially by a visiting parish mission conducted by the religious of the Thomas More Center, Wisconsin USA, then by the charismatic movement, and finally by Mother Angelica’s EWTN which directed us to the good works of the Missionaries of the Poor.  Therefore, in 2010 we traveled to Jamaica to visit Missionaries of the Poor and volunteered in their centres in Kingston. During this time we were blessed to meet for the first time, Very Rev. Fr Richard Ho Lung. We see our role as trying to make a difference and contributing to ‘The New Evangelisation’, through example, by assisting the Missionaries of the Poor help the poorest of the poor, just as Jesus Christ commanded us to do, and now Pope Francis is urging us to ‘serve the poorest of the poor and so touch the flesh of Jesus’.

Louis

I was born in Kupang, West Timor in Indonesia and I am the youngest of three sons.  I grew up in Darwin after my family migrated there in 1982.  I was married in 1998 to my lovely wife Lisa whom I met whilst studying at university.  We have two daughters, Shareece was born in 2000 and Chelsea in 2006.  We moved to Brisbane in 2003 and have been active parishioners at Our Lady of Lourdes Sunnybank Parish since 2004.

Most of my working years have entailed accounting/compliance related work, from chartered firms to government.  I have a Business Degree in accounting and completed the CPA Program.  My grandparents were originally from Larantuka, Flores and so I have a firm commitment to help the Missionaries of the Poor in Labuan Bajo.
