Saburai County is a remote montane community in Timor Leste, situated on the side of Saburai Mountain at approximately 960 m above sea level. Saburai Mountain dominates the scenery, the highest point being 1700 m. The community of Saburai is very poor and lacks basic infrastructure such as power and running water, with many families in the village still living in grass roof houses. The village stretches several kilometres along the northern side of the mountain. The local school is poorly attended.
