Every year the brothers at the monastery hold a Christmas party for the poorest of local children.

This year 500 children are on the guest list, so 500 gifts had to be bought for the occasion. While we were in Labuan Bajo the first week in December we took the brothers shopping and purchased enough food for the Christmas party plus the 500 gifts. Purchasing 500 gift bags, 500 exercise books, 500 fancy pencils, 500 pens and 500 snacks. Buying this quantity of each item was quite a task and we visited several shops over the course of the week.

With that said, we finally found the correct number of each item and these will be given out at the party due to be held just after Christmas day.
