During March Trevor visited the MOP mission at Saburai which is situated in the mountains of Timor Leste.

This post traces the steps involved in the purchasing of the items from the Maliana supermarket and shops, packaging up the sacks of food parcels and loading them onto the vehicle for distribution. Next post we will highlight the distribution of the food parcels to the community of Saburai. By the way, each food parcel contained rice, sugar, noodles, canned fish, coffee, cooking oil, salt and soap, and a special gift of a rosary.

One of the goals of his visit was to purchase enough groceries to make up 125 food parcels to give out to the elderly and lepers of Saburai village. The purchasing of the groceries, making up the food parcels and distributing them took the best part of a week. After purchasing the groceries, the different items were packaged up into sacks by the young aspirants at the mission. These food parcels will assist in supplementing the people’s basic food needs for roughly two weeks.

So take care and God bless

See you at the next post

Every blessing
