During Trevor’s visit to the Timor Leste Mission, Br Francis organised, with the help from the local chief of the far end of the village, to distribute more food parcels to the 25 leper households.

Br Bima was our driver. Together with the food parcels they distributed rosaries and home made blankets. These crocheted blankets were made by ladies of the Holy Family Parish, Indooroopilly. Additionally, a lady parishioner crocheted several jumpers for the young children of the village. Saburai village at 900 m above sea level does get cold during winter. The people really appreciated and loved the brightly coloured blankets.

Our featured image shows an elderly lady receiving a food parcel with a blanket and you will notice that she is using a large nail in her hair as a hair pin. The people of the village have very little. Our next project is to, during Trevor’s next visit, take up hair clips for the elderly ladies, and continue with the blankets as the need is great.

God bless all
