You may recall that during Trevor’s visit to the Timor Leste mission in 2024, an elderly lady was visited who was using a large nail as a hairclip.

On returning from the mission, Tina commenced buying hair clips to be distributed during the next 2025 trip to Timor Leste. With some help from fellow parishioners (Holy Family Parish, Indooroopilly) she managed to gather around 100 very nice hairclips to distribute to both young and old, but mainly the elderly ladies of Saburai village. The ladies of Saburai are very impoverished and certainly receiving a small gift such as a hairclip is so very appreciated, and of course with smiles. Below is the lady from 2024 wearing the nail as a hairclip, and this year, she was still wearing the nail in her hair before we replaced it.

Next time we will catch up again with more images of the people of Saburai over the same visit there in February this year.

Blessings to all

Trevor and Tina
