During his visit to Brisbane Fr Richard Ho Lung travelled south and visited Marian Valley – Shrine of our Lady Help of Christians. The Shrine is situated south of Brisbane in the Gold Coast Hinterland at 2541 Beechmont Road, 10km from Canungra and is maintained by the Pauline Fathers of the Order of St Paul the First Hermit. The Valley is a place of solitude, for prayer and spiritual renewal. Marian Valley is a sacred place and was established as a place to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of our Lord. In March 2015, the new apostolate building constructed at the back of the Mission property in Labuan Bajo was opened for residents. The building is U-shaped with a chapel, kitchen, central under croft area, a dispensary clinic and residents’ quarters with bathroom facilities. Visit by Fr Ho Lung to Ambrose Treacy College, Twigg St, Indooroopilly. On the morning of 14 July Fr Ho Lung addressed students of the middle school. Mr Conor Finn, Dean of Identity at the college, introduced Father, whose address was about the need and importance for every Christian to be grounded in service for the least of our brothers and sisters, just as Christ had served the poor and afflicted. Between the dates of 8 and 15 of July this year we were blessed with a visit to Brisbane by the Founder of Missionaries of the Poor, Very Rev Fr Richard Ho Lung MOP. “This Christmas we had a very successful Christmas tree. The children were really happy and had plenty of fun and of course enough gifts. Our gifts this year were kindly supplied by Chris and MaryAnn Argall of Brisbane. You can imagine what joy these generous gifts contributed to these many kids. The celebration had its own problems. We had rain on that same day, the rain started at 9 am and went nonstop until 2 30pm. We had prepared a simple tent made of bamboo and tarpaulin. The official opening and blessing for the completion of the first wing of the monastery was held on the 17 July 2013.
