Mission for the Poor: Serving the people of Flores and Timor Leste

This visit eventuated in a very brief time in Labuan Bajo. Over this period of our visit Flores had experienced one of its most intense wet seasons. We flew ‘Merpati’ from Denpasar to Labuan Bajo but due to the rain, wind and cloud we couldn’t land at Labuan Bajo and consequently had to return to Denpasar to stay overnight and attempt to fly in the next day. The next day we again tried to fly into Labuan Bajo but once again due to very strong winds and low cloud could not land. On the third attempt, the following day we finally landed at Labuan Bajo. We did manage to take four suitcases of supplies to the mission, including a guitar and much needed vitamin tablets for the brothers. We took the brothers shopping again to the super market, to the fruit and vegetable market and bought bulk rice and sugar. Their block of land was now cleared and had a recently drilled well and a high fence around the property was well under construction.
