During our visit to the mission in Labuan Bajo in early April of this year Tina, Ms Joan (of the Holy Family Parish Indooroopilly) and Trevor, with Brothers Nerlito and Geoffrey visited three local schools in the town. We thought that we would give you a brief look at these schools in this post. These three schools are where most of our sponsor children attend. Thus, the Catholic primary school is St Yosefa, the Catholic secondary school is St Arnoldus SVD, and the state run secondary school, SMK Secondary is a technical school for training chefs, tour guides and hotel staff. While at the schools we discussed with the principals the difference in facilities between schools in Flores and Australia. For their cooperation and their time to accommodate us with our visit we presented each school principal with a small gesture of appreciation which consisted of a package of stationery supplies for the school.
Once again, we live in such a blessed country with its very high standard of education compared with that of many third world countries. We thank you Lord Jesus for our blessings and please allow us to be more generous with these blessings, and give to those who have less, as Christ said, “To whom much is given, much will be required” (Luke 12:48).
Blessings to all
See you next time
