You may recall the sad news from March of this year of the tragic and sudden passing of Christopher Argall, a very kind and true Catholic friend of Missionaries of the Poor, Indonesia. At the time, his wife, MaryAnn and immediate family decided that in lieu of flowers for his funeral, the proceeds be provided as a donation to go in total to Missionaries of the Poor, Indonesia. A fitting use for these funds, agreed by MaryAnn was for the purchase of a monstrance for the new chapel that was to be built at the monastery in Labuan Bajo during 2018. No better legacy for a generous man such as Chris than to provide a vessel for adoration of the Holy Eucharist at the mission that he had such fond memories of.
Thus, during our recent visit to the mission in December 2018, just as the chapel was officially opened, we presented the monstrance, on behalf of MaryAnn, to the Mission Superior Br John Prisca, MOP. This post is a tribute to the legacy of Chris Argall, the generosity of his wife MaryAnn and daughter Rosemary, and a brief story in photos of the monstrance that arrived home.
Finally, Missionaries of the Poor, Indonesia thank the Argall family, and may God provide the family with consolation and blessings with the heartfelt daily prayers of the brothers through their adoration of the Blessed Eucharist.
Every blessing to all for Christmas and the New Year
See you next year
