Construction has commenced at Saburai. The long awaited work was kick-started this August with funds supplied by a generous donor from Queensland, and the recent assigning of Br Francis Tirkey as Mission Superior in May of this year. These funds have now allowed the boundary wall to be completed by November before the wet season commences. Thus, the building of the monastery can now start as soon as the wet season finishes, probably some time in May 2020. All local labour from Saburai and Maliana was used for the construction of the boundary wall and overall, this early injection of funds has provided impetus for the project to start, and has additionally provided valuable jobs for local people from these communities.
