The Christmas period in Saburai and Maliana was joyful, as Covid restrictions had been momentarily lifted, which allowed the distribution of goods from 10 cartons shipped into Dili via a Rotary sponsored container, as reported in posts dated 22 and 27 November. These goods included new clothing and school supplies for the children of Saburai, village wheel chairs (courtesy of Rotary) for the physically challenged in Saburai and Maliana, and blankets (courtesy of QANTAS) for the elderly at Saburai.
In addition, at Saburai, a Christmas feeding program was held for over 300 children, including a feeding program and distributions of food parcels for the elderly. We owe a big thank you to several donors in South Eastern Queensland, including Brisbane, that made the feeding programs and food parcel distributions possible through their generosity. Finally, we also thank all those who gave in-kind goods for the contents of the cartons.
Blessings to all
See you next time
