You may recall that in November 2018 we provided an update on Br Emmanuel Kagaba and his progression through to the priesthood.

Br Emmanuel was the pioneer Superior of the Labuan Bajo mission, arriving in Labuan Bajo on the Feast of Corpus Christi in 2010. He left there in August 2015, being transferred to Timor Leste where he provided support to the new MOP mission in Saburai near Maliana. In July 2016 he commenced his studies for the priesthood, initially completing his degree in philosophy in Toronto, Canada in July 2018. He then completed his long-distance degree (from Jamaica) in theology at Franciscan University at Steubenville, Ohio.

We are pleased to advise that on the Feast of Corpus Christi this year on the 3rd of June, Br Emmanuel entered the deaconate. The photos below provide a glimpse of the celebration of the deaconate ceremony and Mass held at the Kingston MOP chapel in Jamaica. In addition we start the photos with some historical images of Br Emmanuel in 2010.

May God bless him and we wish Deacon Emmanuel Kagaba every blessing for his new vocation.

Stay safe

See you next time
