Today we visited, the leper community at the far end of Saburai village.

The people who have leprosy are still receiving antibiotic treatment via the brothers who bring the antibiotics to them from the hospital at Maliana (40 minutes away by vehichle). This visit was to provide the people with some treats that they do not normally receive: rosaries, hair clips for the elderly ladies, religious images for their homes and home made blankets (hand crocheted by Tina).

Despite the people possessing very little, most have a joy in their heart. We were blessed and very privileged, and indeed honoured to experience their joy during our time with them.

Next post we will continue with Day 2 when we visit the children at the Saburai school.

Till then

Every blessing
